![]() Instead she was just a power-hungry witch looking to absorb Wanda’s powers and then kill her (after falsely promising to help her create an enduring Westview for her and her family). In fact, I was hoping for another head fake and we’d learn that Agatha was actually there to help Wanda. I was hoping she had some more interesting motive, or that she was just the front for a more powerful bad guy. Agatha/Agnes was such a terrific character throughout the show, it’s kind of unfortunate that she was just a straight-up villain in the end. Most of my disappointment, I’d say, revolves around Agatha Harkness. The first eight episodes are a tough act to follow, and while I wasn’t exactly disappointed by the way everything was resolved in the end, I wasn’t thrilled either. While one version of her puts about the cabin, a second witchy version pours over Agatha’s old tome, gaining the one thing Agatha said she lacked: Not power, but knowledge.Īnd right at the end, as she hovers there over her spells, she hears the voices of Tommy and Billy crying for help.Īll told, I’d give this series finale a “B” and call it a day. Here, Wanda can be alone with her grief, and with her new magic spell book. Wanda is living in a remote cabin on a lake in the mountains-a rather stunning backdrop and a picture perfect getaway. The second secret scene fast-forwards an unspecified amount of time. “He” wants to see her, but not here on Earth. Suddenly she shapeshifts and we see that she’s actually a Skrull, sent by an old friend of her mother’s. ![]() When they’re alone the woman tells her she’s been sent by an old friend of Monica’s mother. “We do have to thank for that, though,” she says, as Hayward is led away in cuffs.Ī woman approaches them and asks Monica to come with her. He asks about Darcy but Monica says she’s not coming. “Authority looks good on you,” Monica tells him. In the first, we see Jimmy Woo running the whole post-Hex operation. There are two secret scenes during the credits. ![]() She sees Monica on the way out for one last goodbye. After crying her eyes out, she walks off, past the hostile faces of the newly awoken Westview residents. Wanda finds herself back on the empty lot, in a town transformed back into what it was before. Then the Hex runs out and Vision and their children are no more. that we’ll say hello again,” Wanda says, finishing his thought. “We’ve said goodbye before,” Vision tells her. She and Vision have a heartfelt, bittersweet, moment. “Thanks for choosing me to be your mom,” Wanda tells Tommy and Billy, apparently saying goodnight for the last time. When all the bad guys have been dealt with, the little family heads home for one final goodbye. When White Vision learns the truth he simply says “I am Vision,” and flies off to who knows where. Vision battles himself, though ultimately the two Visions end up talking it out. So she closes the Hex back up and the big fight ensues. But as the Hex splits open, giving the townsfolk a way out (and SWORD a way in) the truth hits her: “You can save Westview or you can save your family,” Agatha tells her, as Vision and the boys begin to split into pieces, little fragments peeling off into the air, washing out of existence before Wanda’s eyes. She thinks she was keeping them safe, but they tell her that when they sleep they dream her dreams. ![]() Wanda clearly had no idea how invasive and horrific her sway over the town really was. When Agatha releases them from Wanda’s mind control they surround her, begging to be released or-barring freedom-allowed to die. Beyond the villains, Wanda is also forced to confront her victims. ![]()
